This is a review based on an outfit I was lucky to receive as a gift. However this is an honest review and all opinions are mine and unprompted!

Weekend Doll is a Boutique in the UK with a webshop that delivers worldwide. Owner Yuriko sells vintage inspired items from independent small labels. They are all of high quality, made to last and with a timeless style that allows you to wear and treasure your clothes for a long time. More importantly she’s set up her own locally produced line of staple items. It is from this line that she sent me a pair of bright red trousers I chose to review.

I personally really enjoy bright colours so I was already delighted with the idea of bright red trousers, but even more so when it arrived and turned out to be extremely well made.

The viscose mix fabric is very thick and feels sturdy but with a little stretch for comfort. Because it closes with a blind zipper and a button, this model is extra flattering around the stomach and hips, there’s no gaps and wobbles from full button closures, and it lightly cinches in the waist. Besides being flattering for curvy bodies as well as straighter body types this really adds to the vintage fashion style I love. And it has pockets! Proper pockets!

Length-wise it fits me perfectly! I am 1.75m/5’9 which is considered tall anywhere but the Netherlands I find. I did notice a tall fit version on the Weekend Doll website as well.

Red is a neutral, no it’s not, but for fashion purposes yes it is. It can be combined with a range of colours and patterns, works on its own or as a pop of accent colour in accessories. But if its not for you there are more colours to choose from.

Woman-owned small businesses are my favourite and Weekend Doll has proved no exception. I hope Yuriko designs many more items like these for her own collection as she clearly has an exceptional eye for detail and uses high quality sustainable options for her materials.

My styling in these photo”s was for a Valentine themed post and if you want to see it in motion please take a look at my instagram video. I’m sure I’ll wear this a lot!

You can find these trousers and the rest of the Weekend Doll collection here. I followed the size guide to pick my size and it was very accurate. I am wearing a size XXL/18 and prefer a loose fit.
